Annual Report 2018-19


Good Evening one and all.

          Your Excellency Most. Rev. Dr. Joshua Mar Ignathios the patron and chairman of Infant Jesus Central School respected MLA of Adoor assembly constituency Sri. Chittayam Gopakumar, Our special guest Malayalam novelist Dr. George Onakkoor ,our beloved Director Rev. Fr. Daniel Thekkedeth, Mother Superior Rev.Sr. Deepa, Rev Fathers,  Sisters, Ward member Bijili joseph, PTA President Mrs. Liji Anish, dignitaries on the Dias ,PTA executive members , dear teaching & non teaching staff , dear parents , loving children , ladies & gentlemen.

          Let me first of all take this occasion to thank Almighty God for caring our school and all of us . It is my privilege to welcome all of you to the 45th Annual day of our school. It gives me immense pleasure to present before you the annual report of Infant Jesus Central School for the academic year 2018 –19 .

          As we share the yearly updates of our activities we take the modesty to say that we did our best to do as we had planned and we are proud of our students and teachers who strive hard to achieve beyond expectations.  We have always been guided by our patron well known educationalist His Excellency Most.Rev. Dr. Joshua Mar Ignathios . I take this opportunity to thank your Excellency for the guidance and valuable support. And also I thank our Director Rev. Fr. Daniel Thekkedeth for his motivation and whole hearted co – operation.

          Infant Jesus Central School bagged a tremendous victory in the academic level. In the AISSC ( All India Secondary School Certificate Exam ) 2017-18 our school secured 100% . All the students passed the exam with 1st class and distinction.

          The blessing ceremony of the new academic year was offered on 1st  June 2018 . After the staff meeting the blessing of the classrooms , School buses and school premises was done by our Director Rev. Fr. Daniel Thekkedeth. On June 4th the school re-opened and began the new academic year by lighting the lamp by our Director and representatives of new kids .  All the newcomers were given warm welcome to the school by distributing balloons and ladoos .


Achievements and Awards

          Due to the severe  flood in Kerala no Arts competition in the Sahodaya level is held . But sahodaya conducted Inter school Quiz competition at BRM Public School , Chengammanad. Our school got 4th place . In the English quiz conducted by Edufox , our school won 3rd place in the area wise . In the Essay writing competition conducted by TATA , 6 of our students got various prizes in the Junior and senior level .

World Environment Day

          June 5th World Environment day was celebrated by the staff and students .Our ward member Mr. Bijili Joseph inaugurated the day and planted sapling in the school garden . All the children were distributed sapling supplied by the forest department through our panchayat .

International Yoga Day

          International Yoga Day was celebrated in our school. All the students participated in the Yoga exercises and kept reminded of the importance of Yoga .

Reading Day

          Reading Day was celebrated with competitions such as reading & speech both in Malayalam & English. As a part of the conclusion of the reading week celebration Mr. Chunakkara Janardhan sir , Chief Editor of sahithya poshni , inaugurated the meeting . He gave an enriching message about the importance of reading and also a brief history about the life of Mr. P . N. Panicker . The literary club was also inaugurated during the function.

Anti Child Labour Day

         Anti child Labour day was celebrated in our school . Students spoke about child labour and made ply cards about it . The day created awareness about anti child labour.

Independence Day

          We celebrated the 72nd Independence  Day with much joy & pride . School principal hoisted the national flag with fervor of patriotism. Staff representative and school leader gave message about the sacrifice of freedom fighters. Along with the celebration we conducted flag making competition to all the classes and patriotic Song in housewise. Flag making competieion inculcated the importance of our national flag .


        As parents are the first teachers, we called a PTA general body meeting on 20th July. Mrs. Liji Anish is elected as the PTA president and Mr. Denny Raju as the Vice – President . We called PTA executive meeting every now and then. We extent our thanks to the PTA for the Co-operation and support .

Teacher`s Day

         All the teachers were honoured in the school Assembly by their respective class leaders. Teachers were given flowers and gift. The school Director appreciated the service done by the teachers.

House Wise Activities

       To develop healthy competitive sprit children are divided into four houses such as Gandhi , Nehru , Netagi & Tagore . All the competitions & celebrations were conducted in house wise . 

School Tour

        Tour programme was arranged to LP, UP and secondary session separately. Ootty - Wayanad tour for the secondary session , Wonderla for UP and Magic planet for the LP session . The students of each session enjoyed the tour programme .

Children`s Day

        On 14th November we conducted a special Assembly in connection with children`s day and distributed sweets to the children. Instead , that day is kept for drawing and painting competition. 

English Club

        For the efficacy of English language we started an English club in our school under the leadership of our Spoken English Master . The English club was inaugurated on 6th August by the MD of Edufox . The club is functioning  with its various activities and enriching the spoken language of our students.

Teacher`s Enrichment Programme

          With a view to equip teachers with the necessary skills and techniques for effective classroom teaching a full day workshop was conducted for the teachers on 22nd September by Edufox. Besides many of our teachers attended workshop conducted by Sahodaya and Macmillan Education .

Parent`s Enrichment Programme

           An awareness class for parents were given on 20th July by Mr.K.M Mathew Principal, St John`s H.S.S Anchal at 1pm to 2.30 pm. Another Orientation class , Counseling class for  parents was conducted on 28th November at 10.30-12 pm by Mr. George Kutty Augustin an eminent preacher from Kanjirapally .              

Student`s Enrichment Programme

            Our students were given an orientation class on 28th November at 1.30 to 3.15 pm by Mr.Georgekutty Augustin a preacher . Besides our students were given another awareness class by Sr. Anaswara our school counselor .


         As a part of charity activities children are contributing their small collection twice in a month . We use the amount for helping the poor & sick. Last year we have given Rs.15000/-to a Kidney patient . And also we have contributed Rs.20,000/- to the Chief Ministers Relief Fund .

School Arts Day

                 We conducted Arts day on 16th November. Competitions based on 4 categories were held in 4 different venues. All the winners were given trophy.

School Assembly

               Assembly is held on twice in a week . On Thursday assembly for all, Wednesday for UP & Secondary session. School Assembly helps them to develop physically , mentally & spiritually to begin their studies .


               Science , Social Science languages & math’s exhibitions were held in the school Auditorium . This helped the students in bringing out their hidden talents . Many of the parents watched the exhibition and encouraged our students.


                Students were given chance for counseling on every Friday. Sr Anaswara DM congregation be available for counseling. This gives them an opportunity to overcome their stress and strains in studies & to form good character.

Kerala Piravi

                 We celebrated Kerala Piravi on 1st November and conducted Assembly in Malayalam and thought about Kerala thanima.


                             Our school gives importance to moral & spiritual growth of the students. All Fridays unit meetings were held & students participate in the Bible study. 14 of our students participated  in the KCSL competition held at Maruthamonpally. They won 3 First places, 3 Second places & 1 third place in various items based on two categories. 

Christmas Celebration

                   Christmas was celebrated on 21st December in an atmosphere of joy and happiness. Our Director Rev. Fr. Daniel Thekkedeth & our Principal gave the Christmas message. House wise competition on Christmas carol song and skit were done in a splendid manner. Christmas card & star making competition were the most interesting competition among this. All the students participated in this competitions


               Every Monday students participate in yoga class. Morning hours are kept for yoga class for all the students. Students of STD III – X are participating in this class.


          Dance class is arranged for girls thrice in a week. All the girls of our school participate in the class. It helps them to develop their mental , Physical & cultural talents.


         Every Saturday 11am to 12pm is kept for skating class. Some of our children participate in the class.


         Most of our children are participating in the Keyboard class. The time for the class is 10 am to 11am on all Saturdays. Our students make use of this opportunity.

                          Before concluding let me express my sincere gratitude to all dignified personalities who blessed us with the gracious presence in this joyous occasion. Once again I use this opportunity to confer our gratefulness to our chairman Most.Rev.Dr.Joshua Mar Ignathios , whose vision & guidance lead us to attain tremendous progress. Let me thank our Director . Rev. Fr.Daniel Thekkedeth, all the staff members, the school PTA & all the well wishers of our school. Dear children there is no Infant Jesus Central School without you. I thank each & every student for your sincere effort and dedication. Let all of us strive together to keep the frame of excellence of our school in coming years too. Above all I devote my prayers to God Almighty for his abundant blessings showered on this institution.
