Dr. Joshua Mar Ignathios the patron and chairman of Infant Jesus Central School, Our special guest Dr . Ardra Sajan,our beloved Director Rev. Fr. Daniel Thekkedeth, Mother Superior Rev.Sr. Deepa, Rev Fathers, Sisters, Ward member Bijili joseph, PTA President Mr Saji George, dignitaries on the Dias ,PTA executive members , teaching and non teaching staff , dear parents , loving children , ladies and gentlemen. Let me first of all take this opportunity to thank Almighty God for caring our school and all of us . It is my privilege to welcome all of you to the 46th Annual day of our school. It gives me immense pleasure to present before you the annual report of Infant Jesus Central School for the academic year 2019 - 20 . As we share the yearly updates of our activities we take the modesty to say that we did our best to do as we had planned and we are proud of our students and teachers who strive hard to achieve beyond expectations. We have always been guided by our patron the renowned educationist His Excellency Most.Rev. Dr. Joshua Mar Ignathios . I take this opportunity to thank your Excellency for your guidance and valuable support. I thank our Director Rev. Fr. Daniel Thekkedeth for his motivation and whole hearted co – operation. Infant Jesus Central School bagged a tremendous victory in the academic level. In the All India Secondary School Certificate Examination ( AISSC) 2018-19 our school secured 100% . All the students passed the examination with distinction and Nevin K Mathew became the school topper with 96 % . The opening ceremony of the new academic year was on 3rd June 2019 . After the staff meeting the blessing of the classrooms , School buses and school premises was done by our Director Rev. Fr. Daniel Thekkedeth. On 6th June the school re-opened. Kindling the wick was done by our Director and representatives of new kids . All the newcomers were given a warm welcome by distributing balloons and ladoos . On 7th June World Environment day was observed by the staff and students . All the children were distributed saplings supplied by the forest department . International Yoga Day was celebrated in our school. All the students participated in the Yoga exercises and were reminded of the importance of Yoga . The Reading Week was celebrated with speech competitions both in Malayalam and English. Anti child Labour day was celebrated in our school . Students spoke about child labour and made pla cards about it . The day created awareness about child labour. As a part of Extension of Affiliation by the CBSE we had an inspection on 22nd july. The inspection was conducted by Dr. Sylas K Abraham the principal of Holy Angels E M School Edathuva. We had an inspection on 19th December by D.E.O Pathanamthitta . We celebrated the 73rd Independence Day with much joy and pride . School principal hoisted the national flag with fervor of patriotism. Flag making and patriotic song competitions were conducted for all the classes housewise. As parents are the first teachers, we called a PTA general body meeting on 12th July. Mr. Saji George was elected as the PTA president and Mrs. Denny Shibu as the Vice – President. We extend our thanks to the PTA for their Co-operation and support . On teachers day all teachers were honored in the school Assembly by their respective class leaders.. The school Director and PTA President appreciated and thanked the service done by the teachers. To develop healthy competitive sprit children are divided into four houses such as Gandhi , Nehru , Netaji and Tagore . All the competitions and celebrations were conducted house wise . The Overall Championship goes to Netaji House and Gandhi house became the runners up . We celebrated Onam with a Variety of programmes. Onapookala Rachanna Malsaram , Ona Pattu and thiruvathira are some of the items . Tour programme was arranged for the students and all most all the students participated in it . On 14th November we Celebrated children’s day with a Variety of programmes . The Plus two students from Manakala school conducted a special Program . English club , Eco Club , Social Science Club , Science Club and Health Club are functioning in our school , With a view to equip the teachers with the necessary skills and techniques for effective classroom teaching a full day workshop was conducted for the teachers on 22nd June by Mr Philip John. All the teachers attended Sahodaya training . An awareness Class for Parents on parental care was given on 12th July by Sr . Anaswara. Counseling sessions are conducted for the students by Sr. Anaswara on Tuesdays. Our students engage in Nallapadam activities Such as helping the poor and needy , protecting our nature , protest against corruption and Akshara marram etc . As part of caring for our fellow beings the students of standard IX and X along with their teachers visited karunalayam at chathannor on 19th Saturday October 2019 . We spend half day with them , entertained them and had lunch with them . We supplied toilet articles and rendered financial help . We conducted Arts day on 30th September . Competitions based on categories were held in 4 different venues. Our children participated in Kollam Sahodaya competition held at BRM Chegammanadu and two of them got A grade. Two of our students won 4th place in the APJ Abdul Kalam Memorial Quiz competition conducted at Mar Baselios Senior secondary school Maruthamonpally and Four students participated in the Big Q conducted by malayala Manorama . Assembly is held twice a week . On Tuesdays assembly for all and Thursdays for LP session. We observed Vigilance Awareness Week from October 28 to 2nd November . The students prepared placards and banners about anticorruption and took an oath against Corruption in the morning assembly . School exhibition was held on 25th November. Many parents visited the exhibition and encouraged our students. We conducted a special Assembly on the occasion of Rashtriya Ektha Divas. Students made placards and posters about the day . we made a human chain in the school ground to show our unity . We celebrated Kerala Piravi on 1st November . This year we introduced a special Quiz competition for all the students. Last Friday of every month is kept for this . Christmas was celebrated on 21st December in an atmosphere of joy and happiness. Our Director Rev. Fr. Daniel Thekkedeth, our Principal and PTA president gave the Christmas message. Card making competition and carol songs were done in a splendid manner. Every Monday, morning hours are set apart for yoga class. Dance class is arranged for girls thrice in a week. On Saturdays Keyboard classes are arranged for the students . Before concluding let me express my sincere gratitude to all dignified personalities who have graced the occasion with their presence. Once again I use this opportunity to confer our gratefulness to our chairman Most.Rev.Dr.Joshua Mar Ignathios , whose vision and guidance lead us to attain tremendous progress. Let me thank our Director . Rev. Fr.Daniel Thekkedeth, all the staff members, the school PTA and all the well wishers of our school. Dear children there is no Infant Jesus Central School without you. I thank each and every student for your sincere effort and dedication. Let all of us strive together to keep the frame of excellence of our school in the coming years. .
